There are weddings you photograph, and then there are weddings that stay with you. Juliette and Damion’s Refuge Golf Resort wedding Lake Havasu was one of those days. The light felt like it was made just for them. Every moment unfolded with ease. That’s what happens when two people are exactly where they’re supposed to be.

The Setting: Iron Wolf at The Refuge Golf Resort
The Refuge Golf Resort at Iron Wolf is one of Arizona’s most breathtaking wedding venues. It sits nestled against the desert landscape of Lake Havasu City. The views stretch across the lake, the Mohave Mountains, and rolling golf course greens. It feels grand and intimate all at once. Furthermore, it’s the kind of place that feels timeless the moment you arrive.
The ceremony took place beneath the resort’s iconic stone gazebo. The structure feels almost European in its elegance. A windswept desert tree frames one side. Open sky fills the other. White garden chairs lined the aisle. Colorful florals in yellow, orange, lavender, and soft blue anchored the gazebo with warmth. Additionally, with the lake shimmering in the distance and the mountains on the horizon, the view simply took your breath away.

Two people, one breathtaking moment — the whole world stretched out before them at The Refuge Golf Resort at Iron Wolf.
The Details That Told Their Story
Before the ceremony, Juliette’s details were laid out with such intention — a lace floral gown, delicate satin ribbon heels, a gold cross necklace, her diamond ring, and a soft vow book simply inscribed “Her Vows.” Beside them, her bouquet overflowed with color: yellow roses, peach carnations, lavender blooms, and touches of blue — joyful and romantic in equal measure.
These are the quiet moments I love most. The ones before everything begins, when a bride’s whole day is still held in a handful of beautiful objects.

Every detail, chosen with love — Juliette’s bouquet, vow book, ribbon heels, and gold jewelry, all waiting for the moment the day begins.
The Ceremony
As Juliette walked toward Damion beneath that open Arizona sky, the golden afternoon light wrapped around everything. Damion stood at the gazebo in a cream suit, and when Juliette reached him, the world seemed to exhale.
Their ceremony was surrounded by the people who love them most — friends and family filling every white chair, faces turned toward the couple with so much joy. The lake caught the light behind them, and the mountains stood witness. It was one of those ceremonies where you feel the weight of the moment, and the lightness of it, all at once.

Surrounded by everyone they love, Juliette and Damion exchanged vows beneath the gazebo as Lake Havasu shimmered in the distance.

Just the two of them, wrapped in a veil and a moment that needed no words.
Golden Hour at The Refuge
After the ceremony, we slipped away into the golden hour magic. Only the Arizona desert can offer light like this. The rolling greens of Iron Wolf Golf Club stretched out behind them. In fact, the sky softened into that perfect blue-to-blush gradient that makes every photographer’s heart skip.
I wrapped Juliette’s veil around them both. They leaned into each other — foreheads almost touching, eyes closed, completely present. No posing needed. Just two people, deeply in love.
The View That Says It All
Beyond that, the wide view of the resort told its own story. The gazebo stood to the left. The greens rolled out toward the lake. The water glowed gold in the fading light. The two of them stood small against the grandeur of it all — yet they were the most important thing in the frame.
And then Damion swept her off her feet — literally. He laughed and spun her in front of the gazebo. The sun dipped behind the mountains. The sky painted itself in amber and rose. That image lives rent-free in my heart. 🤍
