Lake Havasu family photographer — multigenerational family portrait at Windsor Beach

Three generations, one golden evening. 🤍

As a Lake Havasu family photographer, there is something that happens when an extended family gathers together — something I don’t think words can fully capture, but photographs come pretty close. This session at Windsor Beach at Lake Havasu State Beach is one of those evenings I’ll carry with me for a long time. Multiple generations, little ones running barefoot at the water’s edge, grandparents holding on just a little tighter — and that golden Lake Havasu sunset wrapping all of it in the most breathtaking light.

Why I Love Photographing Extended Families in Lake Havasu

I’ll be honest with you — extended family sessions are some of my absolute favorites to photograph.

There’s a beautiful kind of chaos that comes with a big group. The inside jokes, the way the kids gravitate toward their favorite aunt, the way grandparents look at their grandchildren when they think no one is watching. I’m always watching.

As a wife and mother myself, I understand how rare it is to have everyone in the same place at the same time. Life moves fast. Kids grow faster. These sessions aren’t just photos — they’re proof that your family showed up for each other, right here, right now.

Every smile, every laugh line, every little face — this is what it means to be family. 🤍

Windsor Beach: A Lake Havasu State Beach Treasure

If you haven’t done a session at Windsor Beach, you are truly missing out. This spot within Lake Havasu State Beach offers:

  • Stunning waterfront views with the Havasu lighthouse as a backdrop

  • Golden hour light that is genuinely unmatched in the Southwest

  • Natural textures — sandy shoreline, rocky jetties, wooden docks — so much variety in one location

  • Space to breathe — room for big groups to move, explore, and just be

It’s one of my go-to locations for family sessions, and evenings like this one are exactly why.

The lighthouse, the lake, and the people who matter most. This is Lake Havasu at its most golden. ✨

What to Expect at Your Extended Family Session

I know coordinating a big group can feel overwhelming. My job is to make it feel easy and fun — not stiff or stressful.

Here’s how I approach it:

  • We start loose. I let everyone settle in, get comfortable, and find their natural rhythm together.

  • I guide, not pose. I’ll give you gentle direction, but I’m always watching for the real moments happening in between.

  • We move through the location. Different groupings, different backdrops — so you walk away with a full, varied gallery.

  • We end at golden hour. Because that light deserves to be in your photos.

Hand in hand, barefoot on the shore. This is what I mean when I say I photograph how it feels. 🤍
