Paul and Lizzy soaking in the final golden light of their wedding day during sunset portraits in Lake Havasu at London Bridge resort.
Paul and Lizzy’s Lake Havasu wedding was filled with faith, love, laughter, and some truly unforgettable moments. From their intimate outdoor ceremony overlooking the water to golden-hour portraits beneath the Arizona sky, their June wedding was a beautiful reflection of who they are as a couple.
Their day began at The Refuge, where Lizzy got ready in the bridal suite surrounded by the excitement and anticipation that comes with those final moments before saying “I do.” With warm summer light pouring in and beautiful boho-inspired details throughout the day, everything felt relaxed, romantic, and completely personal to them.

Getting Ready at The Refuge
Lizzy spent the morning getting ready in the bridal suite at The Refuge Golf Resort. There is something I love about photographing this part of a wedding day—the finishing touches, the quiet moments, and all of those little emotions that begin building before the ceremony.
The boho-inspired details complemented the desert surroundings beautifully and set the tone for the rest of their Lake Havasu celebration.
A Faith-Filled Lake Havasu Wedding Ceremony
Paul and Lizzy exchanged vows during an outdoor ceremony at the gazebo at The Refuge, surrounded by their closest family and friends with beautiful views of Lake Havasu in the distance.
Their faith was woven throughout the entire day, making the ceremony feel incredibly personal and meaningful. You could see just how important their commitment was not only to one another, but also to keeping God at the center of their marriage.
And then came one of the coolest wedding moments I have photographed—a drone delivered their wedding rings!
Watching the drone make its way toward the ceremony carrying their rings was such a fun surprise and gave everyone a moment they definitely won’t forget. It was unexpected, completely unique, and such a great personal touch to their ceremony.
Lake Havasu Wedding Portraits
After the ceremony, Paul and Lizzy finally had a chance to slow down and enjoy a few quiet moments together. We spent some time creating newlywed portraits around the beautiful Lake Havasu scenery before heading into the next part of their celebration.
I love this part of a wedding day because the anticipation of the ceremony has passed and couples can finally relax, take everything in, and simply enjoy being married. Those little in-between moments—the laughter, glances, and quiet moments together—often become some of my favorite photographs from the day.
For Paul and Lizzy, though, there was one part of their photography experience that was especially important: sunset.
Golden-Hour Wedding Photos in Lake Havasu
One of my favorite things about Paul and Lizzy’s wedding was how intentionally they made time for their photographs.
They understood how important sunset portraits were to them and worked their wedding-day timeline around making sure we had the time to create them. As a wedding photographer, I appreciate this more than couples probably realize!
When beautiful wedding portraits are a priority, allowing uninterrupted time around golden hour can make such a difference.
And Lake Havasu absolutely delivered.
As the intense June sunshine softened and the sky began to change, we stepped away from the celebration for Paul and Lizzy to have a little time together as newlyweds. The warm Arizona light, desert landscape, and beautiful views created the perfect setting for their sunset portraits.
More importantly, it gave the two of them a chance to slow down.
Wedding days move incredibly fast. Having even a short period away from the crowd gives couples an opportunity to breathe, take everything in, and realize: we’re married!
Those are often the moments when some of the most genuine photographs happen.
A Faith-Filled Reception at London Bridge Resort
The celebration continued at the Sunset Room at London Bridge Resort, where Paul and Lizzy gathered with their family and friends for their reception.
One of the moments that stood out to me most happened when their loved ones gathered around them in prayer.
Everyone surrounded Paul and Lizzy and prayed over their marriage and their future together. It was an incredibly meaningful moment and perfectly reflected how important faith, family, and community are to them.
These are the moments I love documenting most.
Beautiful portraits matter, but so do the photographs that preserve the people, relationships, emotions, and beliefs that make a wedding day personal.
A Very Special Reception Guest — Betty!
Paul and Lizzy also had a pretty unforgettable guest rolling around their reception—Betty, the roaming photo booth from Luxe Desert Photo Booth.
Betty brought an entirely different energy to the party. Instead of guests having to walk over to a traditional photo booth, she could move throughout the reception and interact with everyone.
Guests took photos, laughed, posed together, and had so much fun with her throughout the evening. She added an unexpected element of entertainment to the reception and gave everyone another way to make memories together.
It was so much fun watching people realize that the photo booth was actually coming to them!

A Wedding Filled With Faith, Love & Lake Havasu Sunsets
From a drone delivering their wedding rings to loved ones surrounding them in prayer, Paul and Lizzy’s Lake Havasu wedding was filled with moments that felt completely their own.
But one of the memories I will always associate with their day is stepping away with them as the Arizona sun began to fall over Lake Havasu.
They trusted me with the time to create something beautiful, and I loved how much their wedding photographs mattered to them. Their sunset portraits became some of my favorite images from the entire day—not simply because the light was beautiful, but because you could see how happy they were to finally be husband and wife.
Paul and Lizzy, thank you for trusting me to document such an important chapter of your story.
